EASTLEIGH 4-3 STAINES TOWN
Eastleigh moved up to seventh after they beat Staines Town
4-3 in a seven goal thriller at the Silverlake stadium.
It was The Swans who took the lead in the 24th
minute, Tony Garrod tapping in from Elliot Godfrey’s free-kick.
But the Spitfires responded in the 38th minute,
Craig McAllisters deft flick found the on-rushing Moses Ademola who
half-volleyed past Jack Turner in the Town goal.
The hosts were soon ahead, Ademola turning from scorer to
provider two minutes later setting up Jai Reason who made it 2-1.
Into the second half and it was the visitors who levelled
the scores on the 56th minute, midfielder David Wheeler capitalising
on a poor pass from Eastleigh goalkeeper Jack Dovey.
But just two minutes later the home side were ahead, Glen
Southam scoring a peach of a goal from 25 yards out after good play from the
impressive Damien Scannell.
And it was the Spitfires who looked to have the game wrapped
up on the 82nd minute. Reason
latching on to a ball over the top to score his second and Eastleigh’s fourth
of the game.
Staines substitute Reece Hall set up a nervy finish,
volleying in from a rebound to make the scores 4-3 before being sent off for a
terrible challenge on Andy Forbes.
Eastleigh held on for an important three
points and a much needed win.
Quotes from both managers will be up later.
